A New Photography Class

Posted on March 31, 2009

After much discussion among former students, bwh Web Designs is now offering an Advanced Photography Workshop. This course is a follow-up for students of Close-Up Jewelry Photography. It is intended for those who took the class and have spent some time working with their cameras and software. There will be some new material presented, intended to add to your skills, but most of the class will consist of discussion and practice based on questions from the students. Students are encouraged to submit their questions in advance via this link.

Following are the currently scheduled sessions:

Photography Class Report

Posted on February 8, 2009

We had a photography class this weekend. With 3 students, it was pretty much a full house. What do we do in class? First the inevitable lecture, though I try to keep it light. It comes complete with handouts and a CD with more information. This is followed by the fun part – taking pictures. Then we look at the pictures on the computer and do a bit of adjusting.

During our class on Saturday, a former student stuck her head in to tell everyone how much the class had helped her. She suggested that there should be a follow up class – The Sequel? This would be for students who took the class and have had a chance to play with their cameras and software. Those in the current class thought this was a great idea and we’re looking at scheduling the first Sequel sometime in April. Stay tuned for more information on that.

Picking a Vendor for your Site

Posted on January 21, 2009

Recently, I found an article in the local paper on choosing a web site vendor. The article has a lot of good points. I would divide them into two categories: those that the customer does and those done by the web designer.

It often surprises my clients that they have work to do on their web site. Like anything related to marketing your business, you should define the goals and objectives. And, you are responsible for the content. The web designer is responsible for the overall design, under your direction. And they provide the technology and usually the hosting.

Do your homework by defining your web site’s goals, preparing your content and asking your web designer questions.

Announcing FlatLineWear.net

Posted on July 25, 2008

This web site launched yesterday afternoon. The items for sale on the site, mostly t-shirts but other items are planned, are the creation of Greg Cardiel. Greg is a registered nurse who first came up with the idea for FlatLineWear in 1999. And finally, after much hard work, it is now a web site.

Greg has designed a line of unique fashions for medical professionals. Check out his site to see what he has to offer. If you like it, stop by the Feedback page and leave him a comment!
